Queensland, Victoria and NSW Australia are all expected to bid for the 2011 World Water Ski Racing Championships.

After the 16th World Water Ski Racing Championships

After waiting two years for it, the 16th Worlds passed by quickly with some of the best racing I’ve ever seen and not without its controversy either. But Belgium did a superb job of pulling off the world event in four different venues across the country and setting the scene for many amazing performances.

Today is another rest day and teams will be participating in a parade this afternoon in the city of Antwerp. Let’s hope the heavy rain clears up for that.

Keep checking the official Worlds site at http://worlds.waterskiracing.be/ for all the great photos that Wim Lamot is taking and of course the official results. Also keep an eye out for more Twitter updates as and when I get news, as I’m only accessing the laptop once a day in the evening.

Round 1 of the 16th Worlds is done

There was a certain degree of uncertainty before today’s racing. A narrow and short course and a lot of boats. But all credit to the drivers and observers who safely navigated races which saw 3 to 4 boats simultaneously powering around the turn in front of the crowds.
