The Bakers Blitz are the superclass boats. The presidents Invitational dash is made up the next 16 fastest on the course - mainly unlimited boats. The Bakers Blitz are first off - followed up by the Presidents Invitational. Hope that makes it clearer for you.

Howard it doesn't seem long ago that my brother and I were kids joining Penarth Ski Club, my father was younger than I am now, and already you were a long-time member of the club, along with your brother Dave and of course your mum & dad.

50 years in any sport is a long time and I know that you have given a lot so that others can enjoy their time on the water. But few will know all that you did behind the scenes at local, regional, national and international level, right up until now.

From me, thanks for all that you've done for the sport and for the fun & friendship over the years - and for all the times you thrashed the likes of me and Jonesy on the squash court.

But thanks too for everything that you, your brother your mum & dad have done. As a family, you gave an immense amount to water ski racing. So to the Smith Family - a very big thank you!

Words do seem meaningless at this time, yet they are the only way of conveying how devastating this news is. To Tracey, your girls and your entire family, we send you our deepest sympathy. This is a tragedy that will be felt by all who ever met Stephen and indeed by all who have had any involvement in ski racing. Stephen will always be remembered.

Words can not express the shock of this loss. RIP Stephen. A champion bloke, champion of ski racing (WC99,01), part of a champion family. A huge loss to have legend of our sport and a great bloke taken way too early. All of our thought and deepest sympthony are with the whole extended Robertson family on behalf of all of the Webb family. Adam Webb

Its with heart breaking sadness we woke up to this news this morning, Stephen was a legend in our sport and a true champion on and off the water. Our hearts and thoughts go out to Tracey, the girls and the entire family. The Robertson family are the biggest name in ski racing and their loss will be felt throughout the entire sport.

With great sadness Rest in peace Big Steve.

Stephen,

Undoubtedly one of the all time greats, a legend, a hero, there are many words to describe a two time world champion, how many other skiers can say they have achieved that?! its not a very long list! Yet unfortunately the list of the great gone too soon is getting longer and longer and i dont want to believe that it has happened, the reality still hasnt quite hit home yet...

All the while i was growing up i kept hearing your name, and hearing of the legendary Firebird and the Robertson Family from Australia and thinking WOW! Then to see you in action in Spain in 1999 at the age of 8, racing side by side with Darren, and just being in awe of the two of you. Then being in Vegas in 2001 and seeing you take the second world title, and at the closing ceremony i nervously came up to you with a poster and asked for your autograph along with the group of other skiers you were stood talking to. I still have that poster somewhere as well!

The Robertson family name is known worldwide, essentially as ski racing royalty, and it is a great privilege to have even met you. But then to visit where you live in Sydney, to ski in the harbour, the training ground of world champions, to race behind a boat with the Robertson name on it, and then what sticks in my mind the most after looking up to you for so long, speaking to you on the phone, and you, Stephen Robertson, asking me how i was feeling about the worlds and wishing me all the best... that truely is an honour, and they are experiences i will carry with me forever.

My thoughts are with Tracey and the girls, John and Jan and the rest of the family, thankyou all so so much for your unparalleled kindness and generosity letting us stay with you to train with Brad when we came to Australia for the worlds.

Stephen, I will miss you sir! Rest in peace Mr. Robertson

Thank you to Dave Llewellyn along with his army of helpers & supporters who made Cardiff Bay a successful weekend of racing.

Cardiff Bay has to be the perferct place to hold a British & European event, even with the torrential rain at times it's possible to guarantee that the race will go ahead.

The British should almost definately be loooking at arrangeing a long weekend or a week of National racing at Cardiff for the 2012 calender. It's perfect.

What is the point of having this safety rule if its not imposed

It is with sadness and sympathy to Cecelia & Family I mourn the passing of Terry.
The first Romney Marshan of our Sport ...... what a Great Character, Wit, and All-round Sportsman.
Fond memories, (albeit mostly at a cold, bleak Varne) of warm welcomes, great Competition and even greater laughter.
The early Nationals, Europeans, and THE Channel Races ..... thanks to Terry and Friends..... it did not get much better !!

It was with great sadness that I recently learned of Keiths passing. He was there at the very start of my racing career, kindly driving for me, offering me a huge amount of experience and support. Although I didn't see much of him in more recent years he was always interested to know how things were going when we did catch up at races, he was enthusiastic as ever. He always managed to make racing fun for me, as it should be for young skiers, and he was always mindful of his skiers and others.
My sympathy goes to all of his family in memory of such a likeable and friendly man

What a great idea to encourage new & old timer's into the sport. Ski racing will only survive if it goes back to grass roots. The sport needs more focus on local & regional racing for it to progress in the future introducung new & past skiers to take up our sport.
Good luck Hunstanton, look forward to the feedback.

I can't understand how they have Lee 10 seconds behind Ben in the Brit Kids They pipped Ben at the 1st straight, from where we were standing as well as the video there certainly wasn't that much time between them. Am I missing something, !! why is the distance the same in the support as the main (60) Is 60km the correct distance for the main?
can someone explain please.
