IWSF President Kuno Ritschard writes about the International Olympic Committee’s decision not to include water skiing in the list of sports which will be further evaluated to become one of the two new sports at the 2016 Olympic Games.

As you can read in the attached letter from the IOC Sports Director, Water Ski is not included in the sports which will be further evaluated to become one of the two new sports at the 2016 Olympic Games. This is bad news, but not unexpected as I have already mentioned at our last World Congress in Linz.
We are continuing to promote water skiing and wakeboarding in the Olympic Family and we go ahead with our planed demonstration during the 2009 Olympic Congress in Copenhagen.
