Bill Simpson Passes Away

Keith Brice has just written to say that the great boat racer Bill Simpson sadly passed away on 14 June 2009.  He was the owner of the GN ( grand national) Kilo record setting boat the “Tub of Fools”. It was the last boat Dawna Brice ever raced behind.

Keith said; “After recovering from her Biracial Plexus neck injury from the 84 Worlds, Dawna won the women’s open 1988 Nationals first day, from the outside pole position with Dick “Fireball” Sieler at the wheel . The next day, behind Bills Tub of Fools and sitting on the pole position, was clocked at 111 mph on a radar gun, only to burn up a v-drive in the first turn. She never raced again”.

Keith added; “It has been an honor and a pleasure to be associated with such a human being! He will be greatly missed!”
