Condolences to Tim Driver’s Family and Friends

Tim Driver tragically lost his life during the 2010 Club Marine Southern 80 Water Ski Race on the Murray River in Australia over the weekend. The 43 year old leaves Karina and their three children, Zara, Jessie and Faris; and our thoughts are with these people nearest to Tim who have no doubt been devastated by this unfortunate incident.

Ambulance Victoria paramedic Brett Parker said a crew worked desperately to save Tim for 45 minutes, but he was declared dead at the scene. “‘It was only a few minutes into the race when the accident happened,” he said.

Julie Golledge of Moama Water Sports Club wrote; “one skier collided with the bank & sustained a broken collarbone and was airlifted to Bendigo. He has since been released. The other skier Tim Driver, 43 from View Bank, Melbourne was attended to by bystanders & paramedics but died at the scene.”

Julie added; “The water ski racing community is shocked and saddened by the tragedy. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the NSW Police and the coroner. On behalf of the President Alan McDonald & the directors of the Moama Water Sports Club our thoughts and prayers are with the Driver family and friends and fellow ski race friends of Tim.”
