With almost 100 teams patiently waiting to race, the first round of the European Championships kicked off on Tuesday morning with EuroKids A & B, then Juniors and Women’s F1 & F2.

We saw some tremendous racing and the winners of EuroKids A, B, Juniors and Women’s F1 & F2 dominated their classes and stamped their authority on the field. There were a number of great battles on the water and the final positions are shown in the results below.
Half way through the day’s racing, winds blew up again and the water became too rough to race on. The remainder of the day’s racing (F1, F2, F3 & Seniors) was cancelled.

A decision was also made on Tuesday not to race on Wednesday. Personally speaking, I am somwhat disappointed that officials choose not to wait until Wednesday morning to review the situation and make a decision at the time, as opposed to the day before. We will therefore see no racing on Wednesday and the next day of racing will take place on Thursday 10th July.
