The 2008 European Water Ski Racing Championships were officially opened yesterday as teams from all over Europe, including guests from Australia and the USA paraded through the town of Ramsgate. Local dignatories, senior members of British Water Ski and Lord Colin Moynihan (Chairman of the British Olympic Committee) welcomed participating teams and Team Captains introduced their official teams onto the stage.
Today, very high winds have blown up and at 10am a decision was made to postpone today’s racing. The weather conditions will be reviewed tomorrow morning at 9.30am and officials will decide if Round 1 can take place tomorrow.
Round 2 is scheduled for Tuesday
Round 3 is scheduled for Thursday
Round 4 is scheduled for Saturday
