Neil Pallender has shared a couple of shots from last week’s British national race from Lyme.
Thanks to Sue Fleming, below are the results from the 1st round of the British Water Ski Racing Championships which were held at Lyme Regis on Sunday. Also thanks to Karen Brooks who has provided the report.
Click to open resultsLyme Regis was the 1st event on the British Racing Calender. The weather was great and sea conditons slight, which made for some good fast racing.
Kim Lumley dominated the field from the start , finishing overall 1st F1. Jamie Cramphorn making a come back in F1 since the Worlds 2005 behind the Plus One failed to finish with mechanical problems.
14 boats competed in F2 , the pressure was on being the 1st of 3 selection races for the F2 Team for Belgium Worlds. Dave Sewell and Richard Kirk battled against each in a competative class, Dave Sewell having the edge came over the line 1st in a victorious win.Harvey Roobinson and Jack Lynch fought for 3rd and 4th position with Harvey just a ski line in front of Jack.

Formula 3 was led by James Bartlett skiing at his home club Lyme, with Adam Murfet 2nd Will Newland 3rd and Martin Davies (Will’s Grandfather) 4th.
The most exciting race of the day was Juniors. Billy Smith, Sam Clapson and Jake Frame battling for 2 places to represent GB in the Juniors. Billy Smith took the lead with Sam and Jake close behind. Sam skiing behind Rob Jenkins Cyclone Inboard took 1st place.

Overall a great weekend of ski racing. Round 2 of the GB National races will be held at Hunstanton May 17th.
