Norman Alfred Griffin

I first remember watching in awe, Norm driving his beautiful “Louise J” boat at the Italy worlds in the 80′s. Then being amazed that he would come and talk to us kids after the race.
Lots of memorable moments afterwards of such a lovely man.
Our thoughts are with his dear family.
Rest in peach Norm.

Sad day
We’ve banted between each other and have done many years of racing together……
You gave me the name Ripples and it stuck
We have sat at Maccas at Rouse hill a few times and had coffee, a muffin and just chattered…..
So many great memories!!!
You had photos, from years ago,in your wallet that you would show everywhere
I will miss you mate
Such a sad day for June and the rest of the family. My condolensces! What a bloody great bloke and good reason to remember the good things in life. He was a wonderful inspiration to many young people within the sport of ski racing. Not just for his racing but his positive and infectious ways. You’ll be sorely missed for sure Norm, but I can’t help but feel a wonderful sense of celebration for your life.
I have many great memories of Norm up at Region V, series days, state titles, nationals and the list goes on. Norm Griffin was the heart of water ski racing and a tremendous human being, may you rest in peace.

Norm Griffin,
The man that introduced me to water skiing.
Our world title trip to Italy and meeting Enzo Ferrari. Our time in Taree hospital waiting for June to come and drive us home. Travelling to Perth for the nationals. And all the trips to Region V. The memories go on and on.
So many memories of someone I respected so much.
Rest in peace.

Stormin’ Norman, The Leader of the Pack. I knew Norm for 50 years and he provided the inspiration to ski faster and harder, mainly to catch him!

Spent many days racing at events that Norm and the “Louise J” team were at. Over the years we actually also skied many of the same skiers.
Had lots of fun conversations along with discussions on how to make ski racing better.
A great bloke who will be sadly missed by many.
