Ski Racers on a roll at Geelong

World Champion and winner of Race 3 in the F2 Women class, Leanne Campbell.

24th November, 2012

Daniel Cotton (Team 50), Trudi Stout (Twenty Four) and Leanne Campbell (Tuff N Ruff) all kept their perfect records in tact in their respective classes in Race 3 of the Nautilus Marine Ski Racing Championship.

All of them followed up their wins in Race 1 and 2 in Redcliffe with a perfect score on Saturday in Geelong, winning both heats to set up pole position, and subsequently win Race 3 in their classes.

At the halfway point of the series, Daniel Cotton (F2), Trudi Stout (F1 Women) and Leanne Campbell (F2 Women) all have a stranglehold on their championships.

Today, Cotton beat home the consistent Justin Cadden with XXX Racing, and Ben Hackett skiing behind 99 Psycho Clowns F2.

Trudi Stout beat the improving Maddi Boyer (99 Psycho Clowns) in F1 Women, while World Champion Leanne Campbell took out F2 Women over Victoria’s Chelsea Blight, who was hampered by injury in Heat 2, but skied the Final.

In the Junior classes, Mitch Mulcahy (Shamick Racing) and Rachael Stapleton (Robertson Racing) dominated, winning both of their races.

For Mulcahy, the two wins gave him the championship lead over Blake Atkins (Still Kidn) by ten points, while Stapleton has now won six straight races in the Girls class and is firmly entrenched at the top of the standings.
