Sponsor Sean McCann’s Cambridge to Rome Cycle Ride

Britain’s former world Junior team member, Sean McCann is currently in France and en-route to Rome. Sean writes …

I am hoping to raise awareness of the work that Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) Addenbrookes Appeal undertake and I can maybe in a small part help raise funds for the new Teenager Cancer Trust unit at Addenbrookes that they wish to build at the end of the year. This specialist unit will be able to help many, if not all, of the teenagers within East Anglia.

The epic cycle ride will take us from Cambridge to Dover, through France, the Swiss Alps and finally through Italy to our destination Rome following the Via Francigena pilgrim route on 13 March 2009. I will be cycling along with a friend Peter Banks on a tandem bicycle in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) Addenbrookes Appeal. This charity is very close to me as I was diagnosed a year ago at the age of 18, and to make anyone’s experience of cancer better, is something worthwhile doing in my eyes.

If you wish to sponsor me or could find it in your heart to help other teenagers get through a bad experience a little easier please log onto my fundraising web page.

or alternatively send a cheque made payable to ‘Teenage Cancer Trust – East Anglia Appeal’ and send to:

20 Doddington Road,Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, PE16 6UA, United Kingdom.

You can track our progress throughout the cycle ride through our justgiving website as above or via www.pem.co.uk then clicking on ‘events’ and then on ‘doing it in tandem for teenage cancer trust’

Many Thanks for your support.

About my Charity

Teenage Cancer Trust

Charity Registration No 1062559

Every day in the UK, six teenagers are diagnosed with cancer. At Teenage Cancer Trust, we understand that cancer doesn’t stop these teenagers being teenagers. We know that young people have a much better
chance if they are treated by teenage cancers experts, in an environment tailored to their needs. So we have created specialist units that aren’t like ordinary cancer wards. Everything about them has been designed to give teenager s the very best chance of a positive outcome. And we want every young person with cancer in this country to have that chance.
