Kim Lumley tells us about Como Sportivo Training Camp in Italy …
The camp last week on Lake Como Italy was GREAT!
There were 19 ski racing enthusiasts from all over Europe who came along for a fun week of training. A BIG well done needs to be said to everyone that made it possible for last week to happen, these people were the guys who believed in us enough to sign up and pay up, the 19 skiers, EAME, DC for the skis and handles and the Karl Brooks Fund – thank you guys!
The people we need to thank for their time are Lori for coming all the way from the USA with just days of notice, Lori gave all of the skiers so much to take away with them, making every day full of fun and very energetic passing on so much of her talents in her true champ fashion, Filip for thinking the plan up in the first place, getting everything rolling and taking the boat down there, Robert for doing everything people asked/told him to – you are the best taxi driver in the world! Nico for taking the time to come over and explain how important a good team are, Carlo for all the help in sorting out the extra boats on his busiest week of the year and finally Lena and I for being two old girls who still love ski racing and hope we were able to make everything run smoothly and pass on some of our knowledge that will help you all become champions in the future. I know there are so many other people who helped and I am sorry if I missed you!
Everyone who attended the camp definitely wanted to be there and they all put 100% effort into the week. Well done guys, I hope you all have a great time this winter training! Thank you for making the week so enjoyable!

Karen Brooks writes …8 Skiers from the UK set off to spend a week at the Como Sportivo Training Camp located on the shores of Lake Como Italy recently.
The event organised by Filip Vervecken and assisted by Carlo Cassa, Kim Lumley, Robert Manchett and Lori Dunsmore.
The Karl Brooks Fund assisted with these skiers being able to attend the training Camp.

Como Sportivo Racing 2008 is a European training camp for the semi-pro Water Ski Racer which will be organised under supervision of Kim Lumley and Filip Vervecken to prepare skiers and teams for the 2009 World Championships. This promises to be an excellent training camp that will help improve race performance.
