International Water Ski Racing Online Since 1996

Australia’s Norm Griffin

Norm Griffin is one of those people in ski racing who has been known all over the world for decades. He has done what most people in ski racing dream of and raced at the very top of the sport on the international stage as well as throughout Australia. A wonderful personality and a tremendous competitor.

Norm has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and his Grandson Tyron McFarlane shares these words with the world of ski racing:

“30 March 2010: For all you old skool racers the name Norm Griffin would be a well known name in the Ski racing arena. Yesterday Norm was diagnosed with Mesothelioma (Lung Cancer caused by asbestos) caused from his many years as a very successful builder and unaware of the dangers of Asbestos.

Norm’s time with us is unknown and as you can imagine it’s hitting him pretty hard. So for all you ski racers who have known Norm please make sure you stay in contact with him and support him through this tough time as he has supported Ski Racing in Australia and outside of Australia over the past 50+ years.”
