The Opening Ceremony and Welcoming to all competitors, sponsors and spectators, changed from its original route to the Settlement Cove Park Theatre, due to a heavy storm and was held in the VIP tents instead. All attending, were treated to speeches, music, athlete, judge & team introductions.
Skirace.net Racks up over 15,000 Hits on Race Days
The traffic at skirace.net certainly goes into overdrive during world championship events and below are the stats for the last week which peaked at over 15,000 on race day 1 & 2. Only half way into the month and already the hits are over 60,000. for September so it’s likely we will see 100,000 hits by the end of the month.
Back-up Plan Kept World Informed
Because Round 1 was cancelled on Saturday due to high winds, the professional camera crew were not available to attend the unscheduled day of racing on Sunday.

Waterski Racing Worlds race One Postponed 24 hrs Due to Dangerous Seas
SEPTEMBER 10 MEDIA RELEASE: In a difficult decision for event officials, race one of the 2011 World Waterski Racing Championships was postponed 24 hours today, with the Women’s F1 and F2 classes scheduled to start at 8:00am tomorrow.
World Titles race #1 called off until Sunday due to high winds and waves
With over 1.5 metre waves on the course and due to safety concerns the racing has been called off until tomorrow 8am. Thanks everyone for your patience, but the Safety Officer has deemed it too dangerous to go ahead today.
