British Team at Rotorua

british-team.jpgTo the left is a shot of just one of the teams that have arrived at Rotorua just days before the first race of the worlds. The British Team gathered for a briefing by captain Tony Williams this evening at the Novotel (team hotel) just 100m from the water’s edge.

For those not in NZ, the weather is not at all wintery as most people went about their preparations in shorts and t-shirts today. With very little wind in the air, the water is almost miror-like and unless things change in the next few days, we’re in for some exceptionally fast racing, at least here in the first round on Rotorua. There has been an extended period of very little wind in the area lately.

Winderemere Speed Limit – Downing St Petition

Please help remove the 10 mph speed limit on Lake Windermere. Since the introduction in March 2005 lake users have no where to go to water ski. Lots of families are losing out on enjoying  the fun. All the local businesses are losing out and even the Lake District National park is now having to review funding options for the lake due to the restriction.
